The Under 13 Seeding Tournament

Our Under 13 team had a bit of a rollercoaster weekend at the seeding tournament in Rockford this past weekend. But because of the closeness of their games they will still play the fall season at a pretty high level. It was a fun weekend with these guys.

Tonight's training

I'm going to cancel tonight's training because even if the weather clears up, the field is going to be totally flooded and we'll just wind up making it worse. We'll be back out on Thursday.

Weather or not?

It's 12:40 and it's pouring here in Brookfield. Since they're also predicting 100% chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms all day for New Lenox, I'll make a decision later this afternoon about whether we'll have training tonight or not. Check back here again at 4:00pm. Thanks.

An explanation about how we decide to cancel training

We're cancelling tonight's training. When we check the weather report and decide to cancel we do it with everyone's welfare in mind. If we go ahead with training on a day like today when there is a 70% chance of thunderstorms or just rain and suddenly it starts to pour, we don't have anywhere to protect the 20 to 30 players in our care because the shed is the only place besides our cars that we can use. In many cases the players also don't know their parents cell phone numbers and it can become a pretty big problem. Sometimes it just doesn't rain and it looks like I made a bad decision. I do the best I can.

Please make sure that your son or daughter has your cell phone number in their soccer bag just in case.
